OREGON, USA — Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield has filed a lawsuit against the founder of a disaster relief nonprofit, alleging he stole nearly $837,000 in charitable donations and grants meant to help victims of natural disasters in Oregon and Kentucky.
The lawsuit accuses Marcus Brooks, founder and former executive director of Cascade Relief Team, of using his sole control over the nonprofit to divert charitable funds for personal use, including casino gambling, strip clubs, travel, alcohol, vehicles and personal bills.
