Nearly 7,000 cases of mislabeled ice cream recalled, may contain undeclared nuts

While the Rocky Road lid correctly lists almonds as an ingredient, the tub itself is labeled as Chocolate Truffle.

WASHINGTON — Thousands of tubs of ice cream have been recalled because they were mislabeled for allergens, prompting federal regulators to issue a warning to consumers.

Ice cream manufacturer Unilever is voluntarily recalling thousands of mislabeled ice cream cartons after discovering that some containers of Breyers Rocky Road ice cream were incorrectly packaged in Breyers Chocolate Truffle-labeled tubs, creating a potential risk for consumers with nut allergies. 

The FDA posted information about the recall earlier this month.

The recall includes approximately 6,668 cases
