Rite Aid plans to close nearly 500 U.S. stores, including 20 in Oregon, amid its second bankruptcy.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Nearly 500 Rite Aid stores are set to close nationwide, including a total of 20 stores in Oregon, as the pharmacy chain enters its second bankruptcy.
The popular drugstore chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May as it faces continued financial struggles. Since then, the list of Rite Aid stores closing has steadily grown to nearly 500 locations.
The chain had previously filed for bankruptcy in 2023 and downsized the company from over 2,300 stores to about 1,200.
