Morrow County leaders accused of self-dealing in lawsuit over lucrative sale of internet provider

A civil enforcement action filed by Attorney General Dan Rayfield names a former Port of Morrow general manager, two Port commissioners and a county commissioner.

BOARDMAN, Ore. — Local leaders in Morrow County profited from a sweetheart deal they made for themselves with the 2018 sale of an internet service provider under their power, according to a civil enforcement action filed by Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield’s office on Tuesday.

The complaint names a small cadre of “insiders,” including the Port of Morrow’s former general manager, two Port commissioners and a Morrow County commissioner.
