Cool spring weather is helping Oregon farms produce larger, sweeter strawberries as the U-pick season gets underway.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon’s strawberry season is getting an earlier start this year, and growers at Hoffman Farms Store say ideal spring weather is setting up what could be a strong berry crop.
“I’d say we’re probably a week to 10 days earlier than we are on a typical strawberry year,” said Jayson Hoffman, farm manager at Hoffman Farms Store.
