The former Taft Hotel will soon be transformed into a vibrant new hotel that will be an extension of the Crystal Ballroom and Hotel in Portland’s West End.
PORTLAND, Ore. — The well-known McMenamins brand will be bringing some new elements to Portland’s West End, which will include a new hotel located within the footprint of the historic Taft Hotel.
First built in 1906, the hotel went through a few names over the decades. It then became the Taft Home when REACH took over operations from 1984 to 2021, housing low-income seniors and people with disabilities.
