Lents farmers market opens 20th season amid rising costs for vendors, shoppers

The Lents International Farmers Market opened its 20th season with vendors facing rising costs from tariffs but loyal customers willing to pay more.

PORTLAND, Ore. —  The Lents International Farmers Market opened for its 20th season Sunday, welcoming a steady crowd of shoppers eager to support local vendors despite concerns over rising prices.

Attendees had their pick of fresh produce, meats, drinks, hot foods and other goods as they explored the seasonal market.

But for many vendors, this year brings new financial challenges. Tariffs introduced by the Trump administration have pushed up the cost for some goods.
