Lawsuit over fears of lead in Stanley tumblers doesn’t hold water, judge tosses case

While lead is used to construct the highly popular Stanley tumblers, a judge ruled a class action lawsuit didn’t prove the lead was harmful to consumers.

SEATTLE — After an over two-year legal battle that put the highly popular Stanley tumblers in the crosshairs over the use of lead, a judge has sided with the maker of the cups. 

On Friday, a federal judge for the United States District Court in the Western District of Washington tossed the class action lawsuit filed against Pacific Market International LLC, the company behind the Stanley tumblers.
