Keen declined to say how many jobs were affected by the closure of the Swan Island factory but said that all workers were offered the opportunity to relocate.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland-based sustainable footwear maker Keen closed its Swan Island factory last month, the company told the Business Journal.
The factory at 5914 N. Basin Ave., which opened in 2010, is being replaced by a new factory that will open next month in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Keen said.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the 60,000-square-foot facility will double the company’s domestic production capacity.
