Inspired by his mom with Alzheimer’s, former Oregon firefighter creates chair to make lifting easier for first responders, caregivers

The Inva-Lift Pro 500 was born from Kevin Comstock’s experience on the job and at home caring for his mother with Alzheimer’s.

HILLSBORO, Ore. — When Kevin Comstock responded to medical calls during his 25-year firefighting career, one type of call came in pretty often.

“Primarily, we would run two to three lift assist calls a shift,” Comstock said. “Most of the time, a lift assist takes a little bit of time. We’re limited on the type of equipment that we have. We can spend anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes on a lift assist call.”
