Gov. Tina Kotek signs 5 bills to promote housing production

Oregon passes five bills to ease housing construction, fund infrastructure, and promote middle housing to tackle affordability and homelessness.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek commemorated the signing of five bills Monday that are all aimed at breaking down barriers to housing construction in an effort to lower housing costs across the state.

Each bill addresses Oregon’s housing crisis in one way or another, from providing financial assistance for housing developments and creating more factory-built housing to encouraging middle housing construction, such as duplexes and triplexes.
