Google is investing $40B in Texas by 2027 — including new data centers, energy initiatives and workforce training programs.
MIDLOTHIAN, Texas — Google is making one of its largest commitments to Texas yet, announcing a $40 billion investment through 2027 that includes new data centers, energy projects and workforce development programs across the state.
The announcement drew Gov. Greg Abbott and Google CEO Sundar Pichai to Midlothian in Ellis County on Friday, where the company confirmed that its Red Oak data center is now officially operational. Google will also develop three new data center facilities: one in Armstrong County and two in Haskell County.
