FTC: Amazon 'tricked and trapped' customers into hard-to-cancel Prime subscriptions

The agency says Amazon used “dark patterns” to trick people into enrolling in the $139-per-year program.

NEW YORK — The Federal Trade Commission sued Amazon on Wednesday for what it called a years-long effort to enroll consumers without consent into its Prime program and making it difficult for them to cancel their subscriptions.
