Paper Epiphanies in the Portland airport’s new terminal has sold out of stuffed frogs, with customers seeing them as a symbol of Portland unity.
PORTLAND, Oregon — Frogs are the latest craze in Portland.
What started as a single protester dancing in an inflatable frog costume near the South Waterfront ICE building has grown into a full-blown phenomenon — with an entire “army” of frogs and a flood of social media attention.
“It is literally unbelievable — they’re the new symbol of Portland,” said Victoria Venturi, owner of Paper Epiphanies, a Portland gift company with a store at Portland International Airport (PDX).
