Democrats hope to use the special session to pass a last-ditch transportation bill to avoid mass layoffs and service cuts at ODOT and local transit agencies.
SALEM, Ore — Oregon lawmakers returned to Salem on Friday morning for the first day of a special session to take another shot at passing a transportation funding bill that would avert hundreds of layoffs and large-scale service cuts at the Oregon Department of Transportation, as well as local transportation and public transit agencies across the state.
