Din Tai Fung to pay nearly $600K in Seattle labor law settlement

SEATTLE — The Seattle Office of Labor Standards reached a settlement with Din Tai Fung restaurants over alleged violations of city laws related to paid sick time and wage theft. 

The investigation found the restaurant chain’s attendance policy discouraged use of sick leave and failed to provide required rest and meal breaks. Din Tai Fung agreed to pay $567,361 to 1,245 employees in the settlement.
