Design Commission approves master plan for Lloyd Center; management group speaks out

The approval greenlights the framework for the renovation project. The mall is set to close before the end of the year.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The new plan for Lloyd Center was approved in a unanimous vote Thursday during a Portland Design Commission hearing. 

According to a spokesperson for Portland Permitting and Development, the Design Committee’s review was limited to the future redevelopment plans for the site as what was described in the master plan.

That means it evaluated certain criteria related to infrastructure capacity for future development, the transportation system and its capacity to support proposed levels of development, and more.
