Concord Pacific is expanding its renewable energy business with the acquisition of a major wind project in Saskatchewan.
Concord Green Energy, the renewable energy division of Vancouver-based Concord Pacific, has acquired the Golden South Wind Project near Assiniboia, Sask.
The utility-scale facility has 50 wind turbines with 210 megawatts of installed generation capacity and 200 megawatts of contracted capacity. It generates enough electricity to meet the annual needs of up to 100,000 homes, according to a Concord announcement Monday.
“Golden South represents an important step in growing Concord Green Energy into a larger Canadian renewable energy business,” said Terry Hui, president and CEO of Concord Pacific Group.
