National Weather Service rules out tornado, but says winds were faster than those in 2020 Labor Day fires.
LONGVIEW, Wash. — Cleanup is underway in Longview this evening after a powerful windstorm tore off a roof and sent debris flying Sunday afternoon.
Multiple businesses were damaged, including an outbuilding attached to Feltons’ Heating and Cooling along 14th Avenue. No one was injured.
The National Weather Service reported winds between 80 and 85 mph tore off the building’s roof and dropped it on top of a neighboring motorcycle shop and a second-story apartment and rooftop deck.
