Award-winning Portland vegan diner is set to close

Vertical Diner announced its last day of service will be June 14. The diner opened on Southwest Barbur Boulevard in 2019.

PORTLAND, Ore. — After seven years, a Portland staple for vegan breakfast and burgers will soon close its doors. This week, Vertical Diner announced its last day of service will be June 14.

Owner Ian Brandt opened the diner on Southwest Barbur Boulevard in July 2019. Since then, it has earned numerous awards, including coming in second place on VegNews’ list of the best vegan diners in the U.S. in 2026.
