Amazon announces new round of layoffs

The e-commerce retailer highlighted that it would ramp up spending on artificial intelligence.

WASHINGTON — Amazon announced a new round of major job layoffs, cutting as many as 14,000 corporate jobs. 

The retailer announced the job cuts in a statement released on Tuesday, nearly a day after multiple media outlets reported on the layoffs. The e-commerce retailer highlighted that it would ramp up spending on artificial intelligence.
