WASHINGTON — Grocery chain ALDI said it plans to eliminate 44 more ingredients from its private-label food and vitamin and supplement products by 2028.
The new plan, announced April 22, will grow ALDI’s restricted ingredient list from 13 to 57. The last time the company added to the list was in 2015.
The move targets artificial preservatives, colors, flavors and sweeteners.
The company said it will try to keep the “lowest possible prices” for customers, but it’s unclear whether the new formulations will cost more.
