Alaska Airlines hikes checked baggage fees amid soaring fuel costs due to the Iran War, following similar moves by major airlines like Delta and Southwest.
SEATTLE — Alaska Airlines joined several other airlines that are raising fees as the price of jet fuel soars during the Iran War.
Alaska announced Thursday that it will increase its checked baggage fee by $5 for the first bag and $10 for the second bag. The fees will apply to flights booked on or after April 10.
It will now cost travelers $45 to check one bag and $55 to check two bags. A third checked bag increased
