Rite Aid plans to close nearly 70 U.S. stores, including 12 in Oregon, amid its second bankruptcy.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Pharmacy chain Rite Aid is set to close nearly 70 stores across the U.S., including 12 in Oregon, as it enters its second bankruptcy.
The popular drugstore chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last Monday as it faces continued financial struggles. The chain had previously filed for bankruptcy in 2023 and downsized the company from over 2,300 stores to about 1,200.
Court documents following the bankruptcy announcement last week revealed Rite Aid initially planned to close 47 stores. However, updated documents released Friday
