Woman sues Outback Steakhouse for $1.5M after allegedly slipping on mashed potatoes

The lawsuit accused the company of being “unreasonably dangerous” conditions for customers.

VIRGINIA, USA — A Virginia woman sued Outback Steakhouse and is demanding $1.5 million after she allegedly slipped on mashed potatoes and fell in one of their restaurants. 

The lawsuit, originally filed in a Virginia county circuit court in 2025, alleges Tracy Renshaw suffered “serious and permanent injuries” after falling on her face while heading to the bathroom in 2023. The lawsuit said she slipped on a “slippery foreign substance” appearing to be mashed potatoes.
