If you notice more gatherings popping up across Portland later this month, it’s part of a coordinated nationwide day of demonstrations.
Dozens of “No Kings” protests are planned throughout the Portland metro area on Saturday, March 28. The events are being organized locally by the Portland Metro Indivisible Network in partnership with the No Kings Coalition, with similar demonstrations expected across the country.
According to organizers, more than 1,000 events are planned nationwide, including over 60 across Oregon. Cities like Astoria, Bend, Medford, Beaverton, and Hermiston are all expected to see some level of activity.
A Growing Nationwide Effort
The “No Kings” demonstrations aren’t new to Portland.
