On Friday evening in Salem, a man reportedly got into a dispute with a store clerk at U.S. Market on Broadway Street NE. Annoying? Sure. Worth breaking a window and firing a gun at a grocery store? Absolutely not.

According to police, the suspect — identified as 33-year-old Jonathan Roy Debnam of Monmouth — retrieved a handgun from his vehicle after the argument. He then allegedly used the butt of that handgun to smash a store window like this was some kind of action movie audition. And
