Oregon will receive $2.6 million and Washington $3 million as part of a $150 million multistate settlement with Mercedes over emissions fraud, officials said.
OREGON, USA — Oregon and Washington will receive a combined $5.6 million as part of a nearly $150 million multistate settlement with Mercedes-Benz USA and Daimler over allegations the companies equipped diesel vehicles with illegal software designed to cheat emissions tests, officials announced Monday.
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield and Washington Attorney General Nick Brown joined a coalition of 50 attorneys general in reaching the settlement over allegations the companies violated state laws prohibiting unfair or deceptive trade practices.
