Premier David Eby has met with the development and real estate sectors twice in the last year to express alarm over the impact of the deteriorating housing market and pledge support.
“We need those builders to keep building right now,” he told the BC Real Estate Association in March, as they expressed concern at the slumping economics that had evaporated the pre-sales needed to finance new high-rise condo buildings.
“I am extremely concerned about the next couple of years and where those numbers go,” he added.
