When I moved to Seattle over a decade ago, I thought I understood the Pacific Northwest. Then I spent more than 15 years actually exploring it, and I realized I had barely scratched the surface. Washington State is genuinely one of the most diverse destinations in the entire country, and I do not say that lightly.
In a single state you get rugged Pacific coastline, alpine lakes, active volcanoes, temperate rainforests, high desert, rolling wine country, and a couple of very fun cities. It’s almost absurd how much is packed in here. The problem? With so much spread across wildly different landscapes and climates, it can be genuinely overwhelming
