Oregon’s only burn center gets new $2M-backed home at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center

Oregon’s only burn center is getting a new state-of-the-art home in Portland, with expanded capacity and more than $2 million in philanthropic support.

PORTLAND, Oregon — Legacy Health will open a new Oregon Burn Center at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center on June 3, replacing a facility that has served the region for more than 50 years, the health system announced Thursday.

The 33,000-square-foot center is the only burn center between Seattle and Sacramento and serves adult and pediatric patients with complex burn injuries across Oregon, southwest Washington and the broader Pacific Northwest, according to Legacy Health. The project received more than $2 million in philanthropic donations
