New $100M Oregon housing fund targets the state’s ‘missing middle’

The Oregon Community Foundation is launching a $100 million housing fund aimed at helping developers build 10,000 new homes for middle-income residents.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Seeking to address what developers call Oregon’s “missing middle” housing gap, the Oregon Community Foundation announced Friday a new $100 million investment fund designed to help builders finance housing for middle-income residents.

The new “Building Hope Fund” is intended to help finance 10,000 housing units over the next decade through flexible loans to developers building homes for buyers and renters across Oregon.
