Thirteen states have joined in a lawsuit to block Nexstar’s $6.2 billion merger with Tegna, fearing it could violate antitrust laws and harm consumers.
CALIFORNIA, USA — Five more states have joined a lawsuit looking to block the $6.2 billion deal between Nexstar Media Group and Tegna.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta said Indiana, Kansas, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Vermont have joined the lawsuit, bringing the coalition to 13 states.
The lawsuit was first filed in March and led to a preliminary injunction from a U.S. District Court in Sacramento, which stopped the merger while litigation is ongoing. That ruling is currently under appeal.
