California’s AG alleges that Amazon uses its market power to pressure vendors and retailers to raise prices on their websites as to not be undercut by competitors.
Amazon used its market leverage to get companies such as Walmart to increase prices on their websites so the e-commerce giant would not be undercut by its competitors, according to a filing unsealed Monday in an ongoing lawsuit by California’s attorney general.
Attorney General Rob Bonta sued Amazon in San Francisco Superior Court in 2022 accusing the company of violating the state’s antitrust and unfair competition laws. The lawsuit is scheduled to go to trial next year but Bonta
