WASHINGTON — Sam’s Club members will have to pay a bit more for their annual membership starting in May. 

The wholesale club communicated the change via email to members, saying the price hike will help in “delivering unbeatable value and exceptional shopping experiences while investing in an ever-expanding set of membership benefits.” 

Beginning on May 1, the membership for the year will increase from $50 to $60 annually for Club members, the basic subscription tier. The higher tier will also see a hike,
