Oregon legislature OKs bill that allows local governments to collect more lodging taxes

HB 4148 allows for a larger percentage of local lodging tax revenue to pay for local government services, including roads and emergency services.

The Oregon Legislature passed a bill last week that gives local governments more leeway in how they use local lodging tax revenue.

House Bill 4148, which is headed to Gov. Tina Kotek’s desk, received less attention than the 1.5% increase in state lodging tax revenue that conservation, ranching and recreation organizations supported but the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association opposed.
