Sheridan Fruit Co. closing its doors after more than a century

The 110-year-old local grocery store announced it will close this Friday after struggling for years to keep the shelves stocked.

PORTLAND, Ore. — A Portland staple is going away after more than a century in business. Sheridan Fruit Company announced that it will close its doors Friday after struggling for years to keep shelves stocked.

“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Sheridan Fruit Company,” a statement read. “After 110 years of serving this community, our final day of service will be Friday, February 13th, 2026.”

Located on Southeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in the city’s Central Eastside, Sheridan
