How Portland businesses participated in the nationwide ‘ICE Out’ shutdown

While some businesses closed entirely Friday, others remained opened but found an alternative way to contribute to the cause

PORTLAND, Ore. — Across the nation, an ‘ICE Out’ strike is underway in response to recent shootings involving federal agents. The national shutdown aims to encourage people to refrain from shopping and attending work or school as a form of protest.

In Portland, some businesses chose to close on Friday entirely, while others stayed open but found alternative ways to participate, including Bold Coffee & Books.
