SALEM, Ore. — Gov. Tina Kotek’s pick to lead her new “Prosperity Council” was bound to raise some eyebrows when she announced it on Wednesday; the longtime Democratic lawmaker tapped Tim Knopp, former Republican leader in the Oregon Senate.
The governor announced her plans for the newly created council in December in an effort to bring more business to Oregon, spur job creation and grow the state’s gross domestic product.
