Longtime Beaverton bird store closes after fire; all birds safe and accounted for: ‘I wasn’t ready to close yet’

The owner of BiZee Bird Store says she will likely close indefinitely after a fire tore through her home and store.

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Dozens of birds were rescued after a fire broke out at a home and bird store in Beaverton.

The fire happened late Wednesday night near Watson and Fifth avenues.

No one was hurt, and fire investigators determined the blaze started outside the home. The cause was accidental.

Now, home and store owner Beverly Morlan is picking up the pieces.
