The Oregon Employment Department projected Thursday that total employment will grow by 141,000 jobs between 2024 and 2034.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon’s overall employment is expected to grow by 6% within the decade, the state’s employment agency said Thursday, despite recent industry losses which have pushed unemployment in Oregon well ahead of the nationwide rate.
According to the Oregon Employment Department, the state is expected to see “modest” growth of 141,000 jobs between 2024 and 2034. Many additional job openings are expected due to the need to replace workers leaving their occupations, the agency said.
