OREGON, USA — About 30,000 healthcare workers returned to Kaiser Permanente facilities in Oregon and southwest Washington on Sunday morning after a five-day strike, with contract negotiations scheduled to resume Wednesday.
The walkout, which began Oct. 14, involved registered nurses, physical therapists, social workers, mental health counselors, lab professionals and other healthcare workers represented by the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals.
Workers at Kaiser facilities in California and Hawaii also participated in the strike.
