A majority of union members voted in September to authorize a strike, and the two parties haven’t reached an agreement in the time since.
PORTLAND, Ore. — As of Monday, unionized health care workers at Oregon and southwest Washington Kaiser Permanente facilities are set to move ahead with a planned strike that will start Tuesday morning and last the rest of the week.
During the strike, Kaiser’s hospitals, medical/dental offices and pharmacies will remain open. Some patients may need to shift their appointments from in-person to virtual, and some may need to reschedule certain appointments or procedures.
