PORTLAND, Ore. — The federal government is in the middle of a $4.6 million project upgrading security at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Southwest Portland. The building has long been a flashpoint for protests.
In January, the General Services Administration awarded a $4.3 million contract to RJK Construction, according to federal records. The project called for improved security around the exterior of the building with ballistic-resistant glazing on windows, upgraded lighting and added protection for electronic access points.
