Portland’s storefront support plan sparks hope but some questions from local business owners

Portland City Councilor Dan Ryan introduced a Storefront Support Program to protect local businesses, but some business owners want to know how it will exactly work.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland City Councilor Dan Ryan is hoping to help local businesses thrive, announcing a resolution to keep stores in the Rose City. Though business owners told KGW that they like the idea, they also want to know how it will all work.

Ryan said he wants to see different city departments work together more to keep stores and businesses in Portland, like Katherine Morgan, who owns romance bookstore Grand Gesture Books, along Southwest 10th Avenue.
