Kotek signs bills that protect credit from medical debt, ban hidden online fees

New Oregon laws shield medical debt from credit scores, require up-front online pricing, and mandate clearer auto-financing terms to protect buyers.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek celebrated the signing of three bills Monday that prohibit Oregonians’ medical debt to be used against them in credit reports,  gets rid of online hidden fees, and adds greater consumer protections for car purchases.
