    Two earthquakes shake Oregon Coast

    PORTLAND, Ore. — Scientists say two earthquakes occurred off the Oregon and California coasts late Saturday and early Sunday but neither triggered a tsunami warning.

    The U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude 5.0 quake Saturday night at 10:01 p.m. was centered in the Pacific Ocean about 94 miles southwest of Gold Beach.

    The second, a 4.6 quake happened Sunday morning at 2:50 a.m. off the Oregon Coast about 98 miles west of Brookings.

    Neither quake prompted a warning from the National Tsunami Warning Center.
