OHSU selects ‘transformational’ president after nationwide search

PORTLAND, Ore. — Shereef Elnahal has been named the next president of Oregon Health & Science University, following a unanimous vote Tuesday by the OHSU Board of Directors.

Elnahal, 40, brings leadership experience in academic medicine and public health, most recently serving as the undersecretary for health at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
