Portland fire seeks public’s help in overnight arson at Southeast 82nd Avenue restaurant

Portland fire investigators seek help identifying an arsonist who used accelerant to start a fire at Ka-Te Restaurant on SE 82nd Avenue early Tuesday.

PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) investigators are seeking the public’s help to identify an arsonist who used an accelerant to torch a Southeast Portland restaurant early Tuesday morning.

Just before 2 a.m., PF&R crews responded to a structure fire at Ka-Te Restaurant and Bar at 3554 Southeast 82nd Avenue in the Lents neighborhood. The incident was initially reported as a commercial fire with people trapped inside the building.
