Construction companies unite to provide mental health help for Oregon workers with new crisis line

Leaders in the construction industry create a plan to encourage better mental health and suicide prevention tools on job sites.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The construction industry can be tough field — and not just physically. 

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reports that the construction industry’s suicide rate is more than three times the “age-adjusted” national rate.

A group of construction companies have a launched a new initiative with the suicide prevention group Lines for Life in the hopes of doing a better job at promoting good mental health on job sites.
